Chen-Lin Education & Culture Foundation sponsored the NPR spot broadcasting to celebrate the traditional mid-autumn Festival in 2021: The mid-autumn festival is one of the major holidays celebrated in Asia and by Asians across the global. It is on August 15 on the lunar calendar, the calendar that is based on the monthly cycles of the Moon’s phases. The holiday is also known as the Moon Festival as August 15 of the lunar calendar features the roundest and brightest moon. Lunar August 15 usually falls between September and October on the solar calendar. In 2021, the Moon Festival is on September 21. It is the time for celebration of the harvest, and time for reflection and family togetherness. Moon cakes are the must-have food of the festival.
